The biggest captivated crocodile in the world is the dangerous, gigantic 21-foot crocodile till date in Philippines last Sunday, 2nd September. Can one ever imagine! The male crocodile known to be Philippine adult which measured around 21 feet or 6.4 meters long, was finally caught live along the bay by the crocodile farm staff and residents in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur. If we go on to check record details, this Philippines crocodile is the hugest so far.

The 21-foot had attacked distinct villagers earlier, and finally after a three-week tough hunt, it was trapped on Saturday night. A great attempt by the farm staffs to take this grave step, before it could harm the whole village.

It is said that dozens of locals and staffs together set up traps to grab this extremely large monster after serious reports of ample number of wild crocodile attacks.

In the month of July, the reptile is suspected of killing a water buffalo and a fisherman going missing, seen by local farm villagers. After the capture, step has been taken to put the crocodile into a planned ecotourism park in the Southern town.
According to Mayor Cox Elorde, “The crocodile would turn ‘from a threat into an asset”.

The large crocodile weighs around 2,370 pounds or 1,075 kilograms. The mayor added that the park for species in Agusan(an impoverished region about 515 miles southeast of Manila) would certainly be a great tourist attraction with the giant crocodile the center of attraction, as it has become the biggest captive crocodile in the world.

At first the villagers and members of the crocodile farm staff set four traps, which the giant crocodile destroyed. Then they went ahead using sturdier traps with steel cables, one of which finally caught the giant crocodile.
Elorde told, “We were quite shaken, but it is our responsibility to engage with this threat which was causing to the villagers. When I saw finally in front of my eyes, I couldn’t believe myself.”
Around 100 people had to make efforts to pull this powerful crocodile from the bay to a clearing where a crane was called to lift it into a truck. Despite the captivation, the villagers are cautious because there are many crocodiles who still roam in the outskirts of the town of about 37,000 people.
As per Josefina de Leon, wildlife division chief of the DENR’s Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau, “The 21-foot crocodile would be listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest captured, breaking the record holder which caught in August of 17 feet, 11.75 inches (5.48 meters) long.”

It was since August 15 that a team from the government-run crocodile breeding farm had been taunting the reptile with chicken, pork and dog meat, but it only bit the meat and the line. The only way the crocodile came into capture was a 0.31-inch (8 millimeters) metal cable which was used to lock its jaw.
